About us
Oohunt is a small, deliberately filtered view of Amazon. The point is not to show you the most products, or the biggest numbers. It is to show you a shorter list you can trust.

The problem we started with
Deal sites have an incentive problem. They earn when you click, so a bigger number on the page earns more than an honest one. The result is an internet full of “90% off” badges attached to original prices nobody ever paid.
Once you notice it, you cannot stop noticing it. A $9.99 fan listed as “was $69.99”. A memory card “reduced” from $419.99. The discount is invented, and the site showing it either has not checked or would rather not.
What we do instead
We recalculate every discount from prices we are willing to defend, and we throw out original prices we do not believe. Nothing on this site shows more than 70% off, because past that point the number is almost always fiction rather than a bargain.
That makes our numbers smaller than our competitors’. It is the entire point. There is more detail in how we choose deals.
How it is built
The catalogue is assembled automatically from an Amazon product feed and refreshed every six hours, currently holding 25,501 products across 2,829 brands. Nobody hand-picks products, and no brand can pay to appear, rank higher, or be featured. We have no commercial relationship with any seller in the catalogue.
Products are also filtered for content. Around twenty-three categories are excluded outright regardless of price, so the catalogue stays suitable for a family to browse without supervision.
How we make money
Amazon pays us a commission when you buy through one of our links. You pay exactly the same price you would pay going to Amazon directly. Commission rates vary by category, and we deliberately keep that out of the ranking so it cannot quietly shape what you see. The full explanation is in the affiliate disclosure.
What we will not do
- Invent a countdown or a stock level to rush you
- Show a struck-through price we cannot stand behind
- Take money from a brand for placement
- Hide the fact that we earn a commission
- Email you. There is no mailing list and no sign-up
Tell us when we get it wrong
A feed we do not control can still be wrong, and rules that work across eighteen thousand products will occasionally be wrong about one of them. If a price, a discount or a product looks off, write to [email protected]. We would much rather fix a bad number than leave it up.
