How we pick products
A short list of brands, a few products from each, and the guides they belong to. Here is how a product ends up on the site.

Which brands we cover
We cover 36 brands most people already know, across 9 categories, chosen because they make the things our guides are about: Anker, UGREEN and Belkin for charging, Oral-B and Philips Sonicare for oral care, Ninja and Keurig in the kitchen, and so on. The list is ours. No brand asked to be on it, and none can pay to be.
What makes a pick
A pick is a product from one of those brands that is currently reduced on Amazon and well reviewed: rated 3 stars or better, with at least 500 reviews, and priced above $5. Among those, the ones with the best mix of discount, rating and number of reviews come first. A big discount on something few people have bought does not get a product in on its own.
A few per brand, and what the guides need first
Each brand gets 6picks, a few more for the brands our charging and oral-care guides are built around. When a guide needs a particular kind of product, such as power banks you can take on a plane, those are chosen first. The rest of a brand’s picks are simply its best current deals.
Near-identical listings count once. The same cable in four colours is one pick, not four.
Some products are never shown
Around twenty-three kinds of product are left out however good the deal, including alcohol, tobacco and vaping, gambling equipment, adult products and drug paraphernalia.
What we do not do
- No countdown timers or invented scarcity. We do not know when a price will change, so we do not claim to.
- No paid placement, ever. No brand has a commercial relationship with us.
- No hiding the affiliate relationship. We earn a commission when you buy. See the affiliate disclosure.
Common questions
Why so few products?
Because a short list is more useful than a long one. We cover brands most people already know, and for each one show only a few of its best-reviewed products that are currently reduced.
Do brands pay to appear on this site?
No. There is no paid placement of any kind. We choose the brands we cover ourselves, for the guides we write, and commission rate is not one of the things a pick is chosen on.
Why is a product I saw yesterday gone?
Picks change as prices and offers on Amazon change, so the list is different from one day to the next.
Is the price shown the price I pay?
Not necessarily. Prices come from Amazon and change often, so the price on Amazon at the moment you buy is the one that applies.
